Bilal Sami is a producer, screenwriter and director with over two decades of experience in the film and television industry. His most recent producing credit, 'Hanging by a Wire' (Universal Pictures/Everwonder Studios), premiered opening day at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in competition and subsequently at Tribeca 2026.

Previous credits include the Disney+/Hulu Top 10 documentary series 'David Blaine – Do Not Attempt' (Imagine Entertainment), the critically acclaimed feature 'Dobara Phir Se' (Deja Vu) which he also wrote, and the crime thriller 'Laal Kabootar' (Red Pigeon), Pakistan's official submission to the 92nd Academy Awards.

His earlier notable credits include directing and producing the music documentary 'Dhun' with guitar maestro Mekaal Hasan, featured at the Alchemy Festival at London's Southbank Centre, and creating the video art project 'Stories We Tell' with artist Rashid Rana for the inaugural Lahore Biennale in 2016.

After running his own boutique production company out of Lahore, Bilal established the New Media and Syndication divisions of media giant Geo Entertainment from 2018–20, and has since been involved in projects across Pakistan, the UAE, the UK and the US.

A Fulbright Scholar, Bilal serves on the Pakistani Academy Selection Committee for the Oscars and is a member of the US Television Academy. He lives and works out of Brooklyn, New York.
